CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 67-55 decision to Wilson College in a non-conference women's basketball game Monday. The Wildcats fell to 0-4, while the Phoenix improved to 2-1.
Cassi Kuhns paced Penn College with 13 points, on 2 of 6 from the floor and 9 of 12 from the line. Madison Klock added 12, and Maci Illgen finished with 10. Kuhns grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Kai Wyatt led all scorers with 17 points for Wilson and Tioleaoauli Posiulai finished with 11.
Penn College cut into an eight-point deficit in the first quarter with a 4-0 run to make it 12-8 after a Kuhns free throw at the end of the first. The Wildcats cut into an 8-point Wilson lead in the second to pull within two, 16-14, on Ilgen's three with 7:55 left before the break. Wilson held the lead the remainder of the quarter and led 29-24 at halftime.
Wilson took its largest lead, 41-24, early in the third, and took a double-digit advantage, 51-41, into the fourth and held a double-digit lead the remainder of the game.
Penn College opens North Eastern Athletic Conference play Wednesday, 6 p.m., at College of Saint Elizabeth.
