Women's Basketball - Lutz earns MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week honors

Sophomore Erica Lutz averaged 19.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in two games last week.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Back-to-back double-doubles have helped sophomore Erica Lutz (Bernville, Pa./Hamburg) earn her first career MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Nov. 26.

Lutz averaged 19.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a steal per game during a 1-1 week for the Warriors. The 5-11 forward poured in 17 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and a block in a 63-46 win over Penn College and added career highs of 22 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 72-65 loss to Susquehanna. She shot 54 percent from the field (15-of-28).

The 5-11 forward is third in the MAC Commonwealth in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per game, and fourth in rebounding (9.4). She leads the league with a .619 field goal percentage (39-of-63) and is also fourth in blocked shots (2.0).

Lutz is the first Warrior to earn the award in 2018-19, and the first since Shelby Mueller was given the award on Feb. 19, 2018. 

The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m., when they host Albright College as they open MAC Commonwealth play at Lamade Gym.
