Mark Mussina is a Montoursville High School graduate and holds a mathematics degree from Susquehanna University. He’s spent most of his professional life in business and property management while specializing in real estate sales. He is also an accomplished sports broadcaster.

Mark is the father of three and the younger brother of baseball hall of famer Mike Mussina. Mark is also a self-taught writer who has a screenwriting credit to his name. At northcentralpa, he specializes in local, biographical, human interest stories, as well as business management, development and sales.

Carrie Pauling was born in Ohio, but moved frequently in the U.S. and abroad with her family. She landed in Pa. in time to graduate from high school and attend Penn State University where she served as the literary editor for the Penn State yearbook, La Vie. Writing and storytelling have been at the center of Carrie’s career in journalism, radio, cable advertising, healthcare marketing, and freelancing. She’s lived in the Williamsport area for the last 20 years with her husband, daughter, and son, and enjoys exploring local waterways, hiking trails, and ski runs in Northcentral Pa.

Jeff Everett, Director of Business Development   Email

Jeff Everett grew up in Blossburg, Pa. before attending Lock Haven University where he obtained his degree in Secondary Ed. Language Arts. Since graduating Jeff has lived in the Williamsport area for nearly a decade teaching, coaching, and working in business development. Knowledge in branding, content strategy, social media development, and graphic design, with an emphasis on writing and reading, make up Jeff's value/role within NCPA Media.



Melissa Farenish, Reporter   Email

Melissa Farenish got her start in journalism as a Lifestyles correspondent for the Williamsport Sun-Gazette. She later became a reporter at The Daily Item in Sunbury, covering Snyder County courts and Midd-West School District. Journalism runs in her family. Her grandfather was managing editor of Williamsport Sun-Gazette up until 1989. Her great-grandfather was a sports editor for the New York Sun and Hearst newspapers. Melissa currently covers crime reports, features and retail business for She has been with the website since 2016. Melissa resides in Montoursville with her husband Sean, daughter Nadia and two cats. She enjoys traveling and has a goal to visit all 50 states.


Phoebe Frear, Producer NCPA Media   Email

Phoebe Frear is an independent filmmaker out of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Her passion is to give the people in her community the opportunity to share their own unique story using the film medium. She has a background in documentary and narrative style filmmaking, and enjoys creating story based commercials.


Kayla Henderson, Staff Writer   Email

A resident of Williamsport, Kayla Henderson joined NCPA after attending Penn College and The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Though her background is in biology, editing, and horticulture, her relentless love of learning makes her a jack of all trades. She quietly works behind the scenes on anything from concert promos and analyzing new law proposals to organizing obituaries. Outside of work Kayla enjoys gardening, photography, and the pursuit of “cute stuff” - a broad category that includes jewelry, insects and spiders, crafts, and octopuses.

Emma Downey, a California native, found her way to Pennsylvania in 2014, when she started college at Bucknell University. With a BA in History and a MA in English, she combines her passions of research and telling stories in her journalistic work. Emma enjoys covering stories that showcase the wonderful people, places, and events that make living in Central Pa. unique. When she's not by her keyboard, Emma can usually be found at the yoga studio or hiking with her dog, Basil. 


Brett Crossley, Reporter/Photographer Email

Brett Crossley was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Brett graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2006 with a degree in English and Creative Writing. After graduation, Brett wrote for the Daily Item’s sports department. He covered games and wrote roundups before he moved into the news department. He eventually returned to the sports with the Sun Gazette, contributing with regular game story content, a column, and features before being named the Sports Editor of the Lock Haven Express. Eventually Brett started his own freelance and photography business, covering sports for newspapers all over the country. In 2013, Brett’s story on the Williamsport Outlaws won the Keystone Press Awards top prize for sports writing in that respective division. He was honorable mention in 2015 for a story in the same category.  On March 12 sports stopped and Brett found his way to Brett currently lives in Williamsport with his beautiful wife Thea and their adopted cat Warner. Brett is a diehard Oakland A’s, Vegas Golden Knights, Chicago Bulls, and LA Rams fan. He also enjoys reading comics and books and playing video games.

Aaron James was born and raised in Williamsport, PA. He obtained his degree in Communications Media from The Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2013. After moving to Savannah, Georgia, Aaron began hosting and producing a live afternoon drive sports talk radio show for Fox Sports Radio. Upon returning back home Aaron worked as a sports reporter and editor for The Williamsport Sun-Gazette, and The Lock Haven Express. Aaron is a die hard Yankees fan and resentfully lives for the Dallas Cowboys as well.

Chris Benson is a Williamsport area native. He spent his formative years involved in the political process; maintaining passion for writing, especially on issues of public concern. So far, his favorite freelance work has been his 9/11 exposé with the former Governor of Massachusetts and his 2018 piece with the Republican nominee for Governor of Pennsylvania. 

Chris attended Pennsylvania College of Technology for Business Administration; Southern New Hampshire University for Public Administration; certification in PA real estate. Most his career has been managerial roles around the east coast. Benson was second youngest Pennsylvania Delegate during the 2012 Democratic National Convention; serves on the state board overseeing the HIV epidemic in Pennsylvania. Chris shares the same birthday as Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dick Cheney. In his free time he enjoys drinking wine and spending hours on Wikipedia. He remains single.

Jon started his marketing career back in 1990 with Cable One, a local cable advertising company, located in the Williamsport area. He signed up 100+ accounts for cable advertising campaigns locally, regionally, and nationwide and was consistently one of the top producers each year for Cable One.

Through the years, he enjoyed working with locally owned marketing companies such as Adz2Go, Inbox360, Under Pressure Connections  and MXTR Automation. After spending 24 years as a hired employee Jon became an independent sales representative and currently works with successful local companies. He is excited to be a part of as an Account Executive. Through all the changes during Jon’s career, one thing hasn’t changed. It’s all about attitude. He always thinks POSITIVE!!!
