Pennsylvania State Police in Milton recently investigated a number of incidents in Union, Northumberland and Montour counties:
Harassment Physical Contact, September 5, 2019 at 3:25 p.m. at 600 block of New Columbia Road, White Deer Township, Union County. Police said the actor used physical punishment on two children by spanking them on the buttocks with a wooden spoon.
Theft Pickpocket (by Stealth), September 3, 2019 between 1 and 2 p.m. at 500 block of Creek Road, West Buffalo Township, Union County. A woman left her jacket that contained a wallet with cash inside hanging on the front door of a home as she mowed the lawn. When she retrieved the jacket, the wallet was gone. The woman told police she was unsure if she had lost the wallet or if it had been stolen. Anyone with information may contact police.
Strangulation, September 3, 2019 at 2 a.m. at U.S. Route 15, Gregg Township, Union Township. Police said Michael Compton, 23, of Dewart, struck a female victim in the face multiple times. He also held the victim down by her throat restricting her airway for multiple seconds. The victim left the residence and contacted police. Compton was taken into custody and was arraigned.
Theft, September 1, 2019 at 2 a.m. at Hampton Inn, 140 International Drive, Kelly Township, Union County. Police responded to a report of a man causing a disturbance and destroying property inside the lobby of the hotel. Vincent Pittiglio, 65, of Northumberland, allegedly destroyed two glass end tables and damaged drywall in the lobby. He was in possession of a Walmart shopping cart which he stole from the nearby store. Pittiglio was arrested and charged with theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned and bail was set at $15,000. Vittiglio was remanded to Union County Jail.
Criminal Mischief Under $1,000, September 1, 2019 between 12:30 and 6:30 a.m. at 2800 block of Spruce Road, White Deer Township, Union County. Police said someone egged the driver’s side of a victim’s pickup truck. Police are investigating.
Burglary Residential Force, Between 12 a.m. August 31 and 9:20 p.m. September 1, 2019 at 200 block of Fairview Road, Anthony Township, Montour County. Police said an unknown actor(s) attempted to enter a detached garage through a slide door by hitting the doorknob and pushing the window screens in. The actor(s) were unsuccessful and fled the scene.
Strangulation, August 31, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Vincent Street, West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County. A female victim reported that she was assaulted by a known male of Montandon at her residence. The man was charged with strangulation, aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and reckless endangerment. He was remanded to Northumberland County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
DUI on View Alcohol, August 30, 2019 at 9:55 p.m. at N. Water and Saint John streets, Lewisburg, Union County. Police investigated and arrested Jose Navarro-Fernandez, 47, of Williamsport, for driving under the influence.
Drug Possession, August 29, 2019 at 10:37 a.m. at Kindt Road, Valley Township, Montour County. Police said an actor was found to be in possession of pills and drug paraphernalia.
Drug Sale, August 24, 2019 at 11:50 p.m. at N. Front and 10th streets, Turbot Township, Northumberland County. Police came in contact with James Walls, 50, of Milton, as he was driving through the 1200 block of N. Front Street in Turbot Township. Police said he showed signs of impairment. Walls was arrested for suspicion of DUI, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of THC wax and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and detained in Northumberland County Jail in lieu of bail.
DUI on View Drugs, August 16, 2019 at 7:52 p.m. at Route 405 and South Drive, West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County. Police conducted a traffic stop for multiple equipment violations. Upon contact with the driver, Caden Sutton, 28, of Milton, police said indicators of impairment were observed. It was determined Sutton was under the influence of controlled substances. Charges were filed.
Theft of Services, July 7, 2019 at Sunsational Family Campground, 1120 Hoffman Lane, Hartley Township, Union County. Jonathan Lloyd, 44, of Lewisburg, allegedly failed to make a payment for a cabin that he rented at the campground in July. He was charged with a misdemeanor of theft of services.
