PA House of Representatives District 84, which contains parts of Lycoming and Union counties, has been represented by Garth Everett since 2007.
This area, which includes Hughesville, Muncy, Jersey Shore and Salladasburg had a population of 57,244 as of the 2010 census. Around 13% of Lycoming and Union county residents were living below the federal poverty line as of 2018.
District 84 has abundant natural resources and places to explore, including Rose Valley Lake, Little Pine State Park, the Golden Eagle Trail, McIntyre Wild Area, Wolf Run Wilderness Area and Tiadaghton State Forest.
Other attractions in this region include Ski Sawmill Resort and Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland.
The vast forests in District 84 make lumber a major industry. Some popular occupations include woodworking and cabinet building, as well as other forestry jobs.
