Pennsylvania's twenty-third state senate district is represented by Republican Senator Gene Yaw.
As of the 2010 census, a total of 248,605 civilians reside within Pennsylvania's twenty-third state senate district. Pennsylvania state senators represent an average of 254,048 residents. After the 2000 Census, each member represented 245,621 residents.
The PA Senate is the upper house of Pennsylvania’s legislative body, and the final stop for bills created in the house. Like the US Senate, it is smaller than the lower house. Unlike the US Senate, which gives each State two seats evenly, State Senators all represent proportional districts.
The Primary Election is Tuesday, June 2, having been postponed from the original April date because of COVID-19. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Check with your local polling place for possible changes.
This year, voters are being encouraged to apply for a mail-in ballot. You can apply online at VotesPa.com. Applications for mail-in ballots will be accepted through May 18, 2020 until 11:59 p.m.
