PA General Assembly 109th Legislative District

PA House of Representatives District 109, which covers part Columbia County, has been represented by David Millard since 2004. 

The 109th District contains Berwick and Bloomsburg. As of the 2010 census, the region’s population was 62,749. The median property value for a Columbia County home in 2017 was $143,400. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that only 12.3% of Columbia County residents are living below the poverty line. Further demographic information for the county can be found at census.gov. 

State game lands 13, 55, 58 and 226 cross into Columbia County. Grassmere Park Campground and Briar Creek Lake are popular sites for outdoor recreation. Columbia County is renowned across the commonwealth for its abundance of covered bridges. The Benton Area Rodeo Association also channels tourism to the district. 

Industries in Columbia County include agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and food and beverage services including multiple microbreweries.
