Pa General Assembly 108th Legislative District
PA House of Representatives District 108, which contains parts of Northumberland and Snyder counties, has been represented by Lynda Schlegel-Culver since 2011.
The 108th District contains the City of Sunbury, Northumberland, Milton and Shamokin Dam. As of the 2010 census, the region has a population of 62,303. Less than 14% of persons in each county are estimated to be living in poverty. Further demographic information for each of the three counties can be found at census.gov.
This region is home to Penn Valley Airport (SEG) in Selinsgrove, as well as the North Shore Railroad Company. The Susquehanna River and interstates 80 and 180 also stretch across the district.
Area attractions include T&D’s Cats of the World, Shikellamy State Park, Isle of Que river walk, Walker Lake and Faylor Lake. State game lands 212 and 233 also lie in this district. Boating, camping, and hiking are popular activities in District 108’s various forests and waterways.
The largest industries in Northumberland and Snyder counties, in terms of the number of people employed, are manufacturing, retail trade, health care and social assistance.
