MONTOURSVILLE - Vera L. Kennelley, 88, a former resident of Montgomery, died on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, in the Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Montoursville.

Born September 13, 1930, in Washington Twp., Lycoming County, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Olive (Miller) Fryberger.

She was a 1947 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School. Vera was employed as a seamstress by various area factories.

She attended the Elimsport United Methodist Church. From the age of nine Vera was an accomplished self taught accordion player and played in various area bands. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Vera is survived by five children, Connie Cardene Gregory of Loyalsock Twp.; Cathy Cardene Magargel of Williamsport, William R. Cardene of Williamsport,  Susan Talada and her husband, David, of Montgomery,; Richard and his wife, Dawn Cardene of Hainesport, NJ; by one sister, Margaret Dewalt of Allenwood; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert W. Cardene, and one sister, Fannie Jean Fryberger.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Friday, June 7, at the Elimsport United Methodist Church, with Michael Hill, her pastor, officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until noon on Friday.

Interment will be in the Elimsport Cemetery.
