Melvin T. Kaukeinen Jr., 79, of Bel Air, Md., passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019, at the Upper Chesapeake Hospital in Bel Air, Md.
Born on Oct. 29, 1939, in Washington D.C., he was a son to the late Melvin T. Sr. and the former Gertrude Yorks.
Melvin was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School. Melvin retired from Woolworth after 40 years of service and later was employed by A.C. Moore.
Surviving is his loving wife, Timi L. Blackwell; they were united in marriage on Aug. 23, 1958. Also surviving are: his son, Melvin T. Kaukeinen III of Bel Air, Md.; two daughters, Cindy L. Kaukeinen of Elkton, Md., and Kelly Hoover of Bel Air, Md.; grandchildren, Brian (Sarah), Ashley, Kurt, Matthew (Mona), Kaelin, Kaysea, Lily, Scarlotte and Grant; a brother, Joseph (Phyllis) Kaukeinen of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Linda Esposit of Jersey Shore; and a stepsister, Sally Hollick of North Carolina.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A time of visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
