LOCK HAVEN - Helen Harrau Temons Irvin, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 4t, 2019. Helen was a lifelong Lock Haven resident spending her last years at the Williamsport Home.

Born on May 20, 1930, she was the middle daughter of the late Elmer Harrau and Julia DelGrippo Harrau. She was member of the Holy Spirit Parish attended St. Agnes Catholic School and graduating from Immaculate Conception High School.

Helen was preceded in death by an older sister, Catherine Harrau Lasavage; a younger brother, Anthony Harrau; her husband, James Garrison Temons (1980) and their youngest son, Brian Patrick Temons (2018); her husband, John Irvin (2009) and a great-grandson, Anthony Malachi Temons (2016).

She is survived by two sons, Michael James (Charlene) Temons of Seattle, WA; Mark Joseph (Pamela) Temons of Williamsport; 10 grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

As a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Lock Haven, Helen competed on the basketball team. She married James Garrison Temons and started a family. Over her years in Lock Haven, in addition to raising her three sons, she worked as a receptionist at Piper Aircraft and the Lock Haven Laundry. She was very involved in her church and was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She served her church in many capacities throughout the years and loved to work at the carnivals, dinners, etc. In the late 1960’s, Helen became actively involved with the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a passion she continued throughout her life.

Helen was a die-hard Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan and a true lover of all things Snoopy, her favorite, and actually, her only pet.

Family and friends will be received from 9-10:15 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Yost-Gedon Funeral Home & Cremations Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven . The visitation will be followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in the Holy Spirit Parish St. Agnes Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven with internment in St. Mary’s cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in the name of Helen Temons Irvin to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
