MUNCY - Galen E. Delker, 78, of Muncy, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Muncy.
Born June 29, 1941, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Harry F. and Gladys C. (Zinck) Delker. He and his wife, the former Sheryl M. Fidler, would have celebrate 29 years of marriage on Dec. 24, 2019.
Galen served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. He owned and operated Delker Disposal for many years, a career he truly enjoyed. Galen loved reading, having Bible study with his late friend Ray Plotts, and spending time with his family and friends. He also served on the Webster Cemetery Board for many years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Sarepta (Ray) Ridgeway of Dayton, TX; Gladys (Gary) Lowe of Muncy, and Connie (Nova) Brandon of Coldspring, TX; four sons, Ross (Pam) Delker of Rosharon, TX; Rodney (Stephanie) Delker of Baytown, TX; Russel (Gwen) Pidcoe of Muncy, and Frank (Steph) Pidcoe of Muncy; four sisters, Carlene (JR) Campbell of Muncy, Karen Noll of Florida, Vickie (Melvin) Casselberry of Muncy, and Goldy Reibson of Forksville; three brothers, Scott Delker of Muncy, Steve (Dolly) Delker of Muncy, and Douglas (Deb) Delker of Muncy; six grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Galen was preceded in death by two brothers, Dwight Delker and Dennis Delker; and a sister, Nancy Delker.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 28, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Rev. Kevin St. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Webster Cemetery, Huntersville. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.mccartythomas.com.
