Loyalsock Township, Pa – A former employee of Mid-State Beverage was arrested for allegedly stealing more than $2,000 from the store while employed there in 2016.

Jill M. Brown-Thedford, 44, whose legal last name at the time was Beaghley, received felony charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property through the Montoursville District Magisterial office of Gary A. Whiteman.

Between October 16 and November 15, 2016 Brown-Thedford worked the cash register at the store at 1805 E. Third Street in Loyalsock Township. Multiple times, she processed a customer’s purchase amount as a return/refund after they left the store and pocketed the money, according to the affidavit written by Trooper Daniel Kozak of Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville. During that time period, Brown-Thedford took a total of $2,048.10, Kozak wrote.

When Brown-Thedford learned that police were investigating the matter, she walked out of the store and did not complete her scheduled shift. She then traveled out of state, according to Kozak. Brown-Thedford has since returned to Pennsylvania and her current address is listed as Horsham.

Brown-Thedford’s case was waived for court. Her bail was set at $10,000. She is scheduled to appear at Lycoming County Courthouse in front of Judge Marc F. Lovecchio on September 16.
