A one-vehicle crash in Cummings Township, Lycoming County, claimed the lives of two people on Aug. 2, 2019 around 1:30 a.m.

Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville report the vehicle, a Ford F-150 XLT was traveling southbound on Little Pine Creek Rd. with Bryan Edmundson, Jr., 27, of Butler, Pa., and Katie Johnston, 21, of Oregon Hill, Pa., inside. The vehicle failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and left the roadway. It traveled about 60 feet before striking a culvert.

Police say the truck traveled another 16 feet along the culvert with the passenger side wheels off the ground before the front of the truck hit a metal post and then an embankment, then traveled backwards down the embankment about thirty feet and into a creek.

When police and emergency personnel arrived on scene, both the operator and passenger were found deceased. Both reportedly died from multiple blunt force and burn trauma, according the Lycoming County Coroner's office.
