A Williamsport man under investigation for homicide has been charged with access device fraud, according to court records.
Jason Michah Forsyth, 22, of Williamsport, "is the subject of a homicide investigation with no family in the Williamsport area," Old Lycoming Township Police Department Patrolman Michael Engel wrote in an October 4, 2019, affidavit.
Forsyth reportedly stole his girlfriend's credit card and charged a streaming service called "Twitch" in August of 2019.
Although Patrolman Engel's affidavit mentioned that Forsyth was under investigation for a homicide, no charges have been filed yet in that matter, according to Lycoming County Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill.
ADA Grill declined to comment on the open homicide investigation or to say where the reported homicide took place.
Forsyth was incarcerated at the Lycoming County Prison on charges of access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception, on October 4, 2019.
District Judge Jon E. Kemp set Forsyth's bail at $35,000 straight bail, meaning he would have to pay the full amount in order to be released.
Forsyth was unable to post bail.
He is scheduled for a formal arraignment at 8:30 a.m. on October 28, 2019, before Magisterial District Judge William C. Solomon.
