On January 9, 2020, Jersey Shore State Bank, a subsidiary of Penns Woods Bancorp, Inc., contributed $5,000 to help individuals in danger of eviction or foreclosure in Lycoming County through STEP’s Supportive Housing Program.

The donation was made as part of the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program, which promotes community participation and collaborations among the residents, nonprofits, and businesses of Pennsylvania. The Supportive Housing Program, part of the community collaboration Pathway to Success at STEP, is administered on behalf of Lycoming County, and aims to help Lycoming County residents experiencing temporary hardship move back toward stability.

STEP's Pathway to Success consists of five parts: early learning, housing options, workforce development, community collaboration, and independent living.
