Pennsylvania State Police from the Milton barracks were dispatched to a Montour County home in Cooper Township on Tuesday, January 7, in response to a report of a man armed with knives who had been throwing them at his sister.
According to the release from Trooper Brian Watkins, state police found Michael Hartzell, 24, in the kitchen of a house on Pepper Hills Drive, allegedly holding two knives.
The troopers told Hartzell to drop the knives. He would not. The troopers used their Tasers on Hartzell, and then used physical restraint to bring him under arrest. The two troopers received some cuts on their arms in the incident.
Hartzell was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest.
