Sherri Heckman, PennDOT's June 2019 Employee of the Month

Montoursville – Sherri Heckman has been named PennDOT District 3 Employee of the Month for June 2019.

Sherri is a Transportation Construction Inspector working in the Construction Unit. She is responsible for inspecting work performed on roads and bridges to ensure they are constructed to contract specifications.

She has a wide range of experience in various construction projects and has demonstrated dedication in every assignment. She has great organizational skills and performs work that is concise and accurate.

Sherri was assigned over the winter to the Duke Street Reconstruction Project in Northumberland Borough. This is a complex project that requires a high level of experience and expertise. Sherri proved to be an excellent choice for the job.

Her additional responsibilities included working the night shift at the Route 11 railroad underpass project in Northumberland Borough (a companion project to the Duke Street Reconstruction Project), inspecting flood projects in multiple counties, and a utility project. She worked extra hours designing traffic control plans for the Construction Design Services Unit. Sherri did outstanding work in every instance.

In addition to her reliability and professionalism, Sherri is kind and caring. She is thoughtful of others and is always willing to share her knowledge with less experienced PennDOT and consultant inspectors.

Sherri, a 20-year PennDOT employee, lives in Milton with her husband Chris and son Jayce.
