BARBOURS -- Three women were taken to area hospitals for treatment of suspected serious injuries after they were involved in a head on crash on Route 87 in Plunketts Creek Township, Lycoming County, on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

The accident occurred at 4:42 p.m. on Route 87 east of Hidden Valley Road. Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville said Tammy E. Yourish's 2010 Toyota Rav 4 went into the path of a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Kristen J. Confer, 33, of Williamsport, and struck it head on.

Confer's passenger, Jean L. Confer, 63, of Williamsport, was taken by helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. A nursing supervisor at Geisinger said Confer was in critical condition as of Friday evening.

Yourish and Kristen Confer were taken by ambulance to UPMC Susquehanna for treatment of suspected serious injuries, according to police. UPMC does not give information on patient conditions.

Plunketts Creek Township Volunteer Fire Dept. and Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company #1 assisted with patient transport.
