An inmate at State Correctional Institution at Muncy was arraigned on a new felony charge late last week for reportedly spitting on a corrections officer while being removed from her cell.
Brenda Denise Carroll, 41, from Warren County, is accused of spitting on the face of a female corrections officer while being removed from her cell.
Carroll was charged with one count of third degree felony aggravated harassment by prisoner on Sept. 12, 2019, for the May 30, 2019 incident.
"Carroll was placed into a restraint chair and while being secured, turns her head to the right and spits directly onto [the victim's] face," Montoursville State Police Trooper James Nestico wrote in the affidavit.
Carroll previously pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault was serving 15 to 30 months in State Correctional Institute at Muncy.
She also pleaded guilty to third degree felony aggravated harassment by prisoner in Warren County in 2013 and third degree felony aggravated harassment by prisoner in Lycoming County in 2015.
Lycoming County Magisterial District Judge Jon E. Kemp set Carroll's bail at $35,000 straight bail.
She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Muncy on Sept. 20, 2019, at 10:30 a.m.
