A Sayre man was arraigned last month on charges of simple assault and harassment after a September wake-up call allegedly turned violent.
According to an affidavit filed by Athens Township police officer Denny Slater, Korey Rowe, 30, of Sayre, punched the mother of his 7-month-old child in the head numerous times on September 24.
When the officer reached the Roslyn Court apartment that morning, the victim told him that "when the alarm went off she woke Korey Rowe up for work."
The victim said that he "jumped up out of bed and started punching her on the side and back of her head" and then hit her on the side of her face. After that, Rowe left the apartment. The victim called 911.
After she called 911, Rowe returned to the apartment, kicked in the door, threw the woman to the floor, and punched her in the head again.
The affidavit says that the victim had fresh scratches on the back of her arm and her right ear was red.
Rowe was arraigned on December 14 by Bradford County magisterial district judge Todd Carr. Bail was set at $5,000.
