Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield investigated a number of recent incidents in Tioga County:
Criminal Mischief Under $1,000, Between 1 p.m. August 9 and 3:21 p.m. August 11, 2019 at Wattle Run Road, Clymer Township. Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief. Between 8/9/19 and 8/13/19 an unknown actor(s) keyed a vehicle parked at a victim’s residence. Anyone with information may contact PSP at 570-662-2151.
Theft of Items from Motor Vehicle, August 5, 2019 at 7:30 a.m. at 7000 block of Route 49, Osceola Township. A victim accused a suspect of taking a $100 bill from her vehicle while returning from the hospital. Apparently, the suspect was sick and the victim took her to the emergency room for treatment, police said. Due to the victim’s story changing several times, the case was closed.
DUI on View Alcohol, August 4, 2019 at 2:57 a.m. at Route 49, Deerfield Township. Police arrested a known male for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Harassment Physical Contact, 10 p.m. July 28, 2019 at State Street, Lawrenceville. Police responded to a domestic incident. On arrival, it was determined that the complainant, a 25-year-old man of Addison, N.Y., was the actor and wanted to turn himself in for slapping his girlfriend in the face.
Theft by Deception, July 28, 2019 at 4:07 p.m. at Westgate Road, Richmond Township. Police said a victim received an email that appeared to be from an old work colleague. The email asked the victim to purchase two $100 Amazon gift cards at Lowe’s and provide the numbers off the back of the cards so the colleague could use them for a birthday gift for her niece. The victim purchased the gift cards and sent photos of them through the email address. The suspect then contacted the victim and asked her to send two more gift cards, with the promise of having her accountant send a check for all of the gift cards. At this point, the victim suspected it was a scam and did not send any more gift cards.
Prohibited Offensive Weapons, July 27, 2019 at 11:15 a.m. at Spencer and Brooklyn roads, Richmond Township. Police said David Maul, 29, of Rochester, N.Y., failed to stop his motorcycle during a traffic stop on U.S. 15 South in the area of Blossburg. Maul fled south on U.S. 15 recklessly and at a high rate of speed. He stopped his vehicle at approximately one mile south of the Lycoming County line. Maul was placed under arrest. During a search of his person, a taser/stun gun was located. Maul was taken to Tioga County Prison where he was held on charges of fleeing and eluding, prohibited offensive weapons and multiple traffic violations.
DUI on View Alcohol, July 24, 2019 at 2:15 a.m. at Cherry Flats and Canada roads, Covington Township. Police pulled over Kelly Gilbert, 28, of Covington, for a traffic violation and found her to be driving under the influence. She was arrested and charged.
PFA Violation, July 22, 2019 at 4:08 a.m. at Log Row St., Hamilton Township. Upon investigation of harassment, it was discovered a 34-year-old man of Tioga violated a protection from abuse order. He was subsequently charged.
DUI on View Alcohol, July 20, 2019 at 12:39 a.m. at Main and N. Main streets, Tioga Township. Jeremiah Gee, 42, of Tioga, was pulled over for a traffic violation and was found to be driving under the influence. He was charged.
DUI on View Alcohol, July 19, 2019 at 12:14 a.m. at N. Williamson and Canada roads, Covington Township. Thomas Martell, 41, of Clarence, was pulled over for a traffic violation and was found to be driving under the influence. He was arrested and charged.
DUI on View Alcohol, July 19, 2019 at 1:13 a.m. at S. Main Street and Susquehanna Trail, Covington Township. Police pulled over Justin Auwarter, 26, of Mansfield, for a traffic violation and found him to be driving under the influence. He was arrested and charged.
Harassment Physical Contact, July 18, 2019 at 7:35 p.m. at 15000 block of Route 6, Richmond Township. Police were dispatched to a domestic incident. Upon arrival, police determined there was physical contact during an argument. A harassment charge was filed against Kaitlynn Wheaton, 23, of Mansfield. Mansfield Borough Police Department assisted.
DUI on View Alcohol, July 10, 2019 at 9:45 p.m. at Mann Hill Road and Limerick Lane, Tioga Township. Police pulled over a 53-year-old man of Tioga for a traffic violation and found him to be driving under the influence. He was charged.
DUI on View Alcohol, June 21, 2019 at 11:12 p.m. at 800 block of Block E. Hill Road, Covington Township. Malissa Robbins, 47, of Blossburg, was pulled over for a traffic violation. She was found to be driving under the influence and was charged.
Inspection Station Violation, June 19, 2019 at Tioga Auto Service, 15745 Route 287, Tioga. Police said the service station performed a PA State Safety Inspection on a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado and issued a certificate of inspection for the vehicle. After an investigation, it was determined the vehicle should have failed the inspection. The service station was issued a citation.
Burglary Residential No Force, Between June 1 and July 26, 2019 at 1300 block of Dutch Hill Road, Delmar Township. A victim reported items were stolen while she was away from her residence, including a PA registration plate and carbon monoxide detector.
