From Chief Joseph W. Hope, Old Lycoming Township Police Department:

The Lycoming County DUI Task Force operated a large-scale enforcement detail involving multiple police agencies over the Memorial Day holiday.  The enforcement detail conducted included a Stationary Checkpoint at Route 220 and 287 in Piatt Township, Lycoming County, along with multiple roving patrols.  The checkpoint-hosting agency was the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department.  

Participating were 31 Officers from the following eight police agencies:  Tiadaghton Regional Police, Old Lycoming Police, Williamsport Bureau of Police, South Williamsport Police, Montoursville Borough Police, Lycoming County Sheriff’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police.

The following are the results of the enforcement details;

688 Total Vehicles came through the 4-hour checkpoint

Seven vehicle operators were detained for Standard Field Sobriety Testing and four of those arrested

There were five total DUI Arrests, four from the checkpoint and one from the roving patrols, three DUI alcohol and two operators arrested for DUI-D (DRUGS) for marijuana in their system

There were five drug arrests, which included possession of marijuana, possession of meth, and drug paraphernalia.

Twenty traffic citations were issued during the operation. In addition, two were arrested on outstanding warrants, one for a State Parole Warrant, and one for a Clinton County Bench Warrant.
