Williamsport – Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville have released the name of the motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a crash Saturday on E. Third Street in Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County.
Jonathan Toro, 28, of Williamsport, was injured when his 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle was hit by a vehicle at 8:30 a.m. July 13, 2019 on E. Third Street near Russell Avenue, according to police. He was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. A nursing supervisor at Geisinger said he was in critical condition as of Sunday afternoon.
The driver of the 2014 Kia Sorento, Thomas J. Vernachio, 60, of York, Pa., was not injured. His passenger, Shirley A. Dwyer, 67, of York, also was not injured, police said.
Police did not have any further details as of Sunday afternoon.
East Third Street near Russell Avenue was closed for several hours Saturday morning as police reconstructed the accident. PennDOT was on the scene. Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Co. #1 and Life Flight also responded the scene. The Life Flight helicopter reportedly landed in the parking of the Hampton Inn.
