WILLIAMSPORT -- Charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving were filed against Clifford W. Deljanovan, 31, of Williamsport, after he crashed his vehicle into the Memorial Homes apartments last month.
Williamsport Bureau of Police responded to the one-vehicle crash around 9:20 p.m. March 30, 2019 at the apartment complex at the 1600 block of Memorial Avenue. When they arrived, officers found Deljanovan's blue Chevrolet Cobalt resting against the front of the apartment complex. The vehicle had driven through several heating and air units prior to hitting the building, according to witness accounts documented in the affidavit.
Deljanovan had allegedly driven the vehicle down Memorial Avenue at a high rate of speed before driving over two sets of curbs and crashing into the building. He admitted to police that he had driven the vehicle, according to the affidavit. Officers noted he smelled of alcohol, had glassy eyes and slurred speech.
Deljanovan submitted to a blood test. His blood alcohol content was .270 percent.
Police noted in the affidavit that this is Deljanovan's second DUI in 10 years. He also had a DUI suspended license.
Charges were filed on April 22. Deljanovan's preliminary hearing in front of District Magistrate Christian D. Frey is scheduled for May 28.
