East Keating Township, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police in Lamar responded to a report of an accidental death at a campsite in East Keating Township near Renovo, Clinton County. The incident occurred along the Susquehanna River West Branch, according to Clinton County Communications.

According to police, Elmer Stoltzfus, 40, of Parkesburg, Pa., was killed when a tree fell on him during a storm at the campsite. The accident occurred at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019. Police said Stoltzfus was at the campsite with multiple friends.

Emergency responders from Clinton, Centre and Clearfield counties were at the scene and remained there for several hours.
