ELKLAND -- A Tioga County man was charged with attempted homicide after he allegedly shot a man in Elkland and fled in the early morning hours of May 6, 2019.
Terrance S. Hood, 36, of Elkland, also was charged with aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine and related charges, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield.
Police responded to 116 Proctor Avenue, Elkland, at 3:12 a.m. for a report of a shooting victim. When police arrived, the victim, a 25-year-old man from Wellsboro, was lying on the front porch with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest area. He was transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre via ambulance.
It was reported that a black male shot the victim and fled the scene in a small white four-door vehicle north on Proctor Avenue, police said. During the course of the investigation, Hood was identified as the actor and was taken into custody.
Hood was arraigned in front of District Magistrate James E. Carlson and was remanded to Tioga County Prison. Hood is being held without bail.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 16 at the office of District Magistrate James R. Edgcomb in Elkland.
