Fire, rescue  and medical crews responded to a call of "aircraft down" at the Jersey Shore (Pennsylvania) airport Sunday afternoon.

The Lycoming County Coroner was heard being requested to the scene. The FAA was also informed.

Initial reports said the plane was a bi-plane and there was no fire reported at the scene of the crash.

Police and Civil Air Patrol members are expected to man the crash site overnight until FAA personnel arrive on scene.

The name of the pilot and possible passengers have not yet been released.
