On Monday, July 15, 2019, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Northcentral Regional Office will host an open house to provide vital information and resources to landowners and municipalities seeking to work in streams impacted by flooding and erosion. The program is from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the DEP Moshannon District Office, 186 Enterprise Drive, Philipsburg, PA.
DEP staff will provide an overview of Restore Pennsylvania, a four-year, $4.5 billion statewide initiative that will provide funding for critical flood control infrastructure, including large-scale stream restoration and maintenance work.
Attendees can speak with staff about their stream work and flooding questions and receive informational materials from DEP, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, PennDOT, and the Centre County Conservation District.
The 'DEP Connects Open House: Maintaining Streams in Your Community' event is part of the DEP Connects regional public outreach program. The public is welcome, and municipal officials and streamside landowners are especially encouraged to attend.
