MONTOURSVILLE – Work is progressing on the Northern Section of the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) project in Northumberland, Union and Snyder counties as follows:
The contractor, Trumbull Corporation, will continue work on the CSVT river bridge.
Substructure work is in various stages on piers on the eastern portion of the bridge.
Equipment will be working adjacent to Route 147. A 10-foot width restriction is in place on Route 147 for pier construction.
The contractor is New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc.
The earthwork and structure contract for work at the interchange has been completed. The contractor has completed 1.5 million cubic yards of earthwork and four bridges included in the $37 million contract. Final paving of this section of CSVT will be completed as part of fourth and final contract of the project’s northern section.
The contractor, Trumbull Corporation, will continue work on the Wooded Run Bridge and Chillisquaque Creek Bridge.
Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering Route 147 at the Chillisquaque Creek bridge.
Northern Section Paving:
The contractor, New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., is performing excavating, grading and embankment work at the project’s northern end at the Route 147 tie-in. Temporary concrete barrier is in place.
Paving will begin this spring. This work will include bituminous and concrete paving, drainage, sign structures, highway lighting and traffic signals.
