A young Watsontown man reportedly kicked one police officer and tried to spit on her at the Lycoming County Fair after providing a false name and date of birth to another.
Tyler Scott Turner, 24, of Watsontown, reportedly struggled with Lycoming County Sheriff's Deputy Ericka Heath at the Lycoming County Fair, 300 S. Hughes Alley, Hughesville, on Sunday July 14.
"Turner made multiple statements about wanting to kill himself and repeatedly tried to hit his head off the ground. I informed Turner to 'stop' [at] which [time] he attempted to spit on me," Deputy Heath wrote.
Turner's alleged scuffle with officers drew a twenty person crowd of spectators and interrupted foot traffic and the line for the ticket booth, according to police.
The affidavit does not indicate why officers stopped Turner in the first place, only that he "provided a false name and date of birth."
Turner is charged with resisting arrest/other law enforcement, disorderly conduct hazardous/physical offense, harassment - subject other person to physical contact,
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Muncy Magisterial District Judge Jon E. Kemp on August 23, 2019, at 2:15 pm.
