***Police Activity*** 3/18/18 – 3/24/18

3/18 – 400 block Broad St – An Officer responded to a burglar alarm at a business. Upon arrival, it was learned it was a false alarm.

3/18 – 900 block Willow St – An Officer responded to a diabetic emergency. EMS was on scene.

3/18 – 300 block Crawford Alley – An Officer is investigating the theft of items from a parked car.

3/18 – N Loyalsock Ave @ Pine St – An Officer responded to a vehicle crash with no injuries. A driver pulled out of Grace Buffet into the center turn lane and then merged into the travel lane striking another vehicle.

3/18 – Lowe’s – An Officer took a report that a bike was stolen from the far end of the parking lot. Investigation continues.

3/18 – 100 block Fairview Dr – An Officer responded to the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, it was learned a teenager was jogging with the flow of traffic then turned to cross the road and struck the right front of the vehicle traveling in the same direction. The jogger was transported to the UPMC ER with non-life threatening injuries.

3/18 – I-180 E – An Officer responded to the report of a deer struck by a truck. Upon arrival, the deer was not on scene. The truck was damaged to the point a tow truck was called.

3/19 – 300 block Jordan Ave – Just after midnight an Officer on patrol noticed two people in a running car with NY tags. The Officer stopped to speak with the two people. While speaking with the people the Officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. The Officer identified the two occupants and learned that one of the people gave a false name. The Officer searched the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia, marijuana and an unmarked pill container with Percocet inside. The people did not have a prescription for Percocet. The passenger will receive charges for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Percocet without Prescription, False ID to Law Enforcement and Possession of a Misbranded Controlled Substance.

3/19 – Weis Markets – At just after 3am, and Officer on patrol heard an audible alarm coming from the store. Contact was made with an employee. It was learned it was a false alarm.

3/19 – 100 block Walnut St – An Officer took a report of a suspicious person who was asking questions of the caller that she felt were uncomfortable. The man was not located.

3/20 – 900 block N Loyalsock Ave – An Officer conducted a vehicle stop. The Officer identified the driver as a man who had an arrest warrant through our Department. He was taken into custody. The passenger was found to have in his possession a small amount of marijuana. The driver was arraigned and the passenger was released and will receive a charge for Possession of Marijuana.

3/20 – Broad St @ Walnut St – An Officer while on patrol came across a vehicle crash. Both drivers were injured with one being treated and released and the other being transported to UPMC ER with non-life threatening injuries. It was learned a driver traveling west on Broad made a left turn in front of a driver traveling east on Broad. Both vehicles needed to be towed. The driver causing the crash will receive a citation for making an Improper Left Turn and Expired Registration.

3/20 – 600 block Broad St – An Officer responded to a vehicle crash with no injuries. A vehicle trying to make a right turn was struck by the vehicle behind who decided to pass that vehicle to the right. One vehicle needed towed.

3/21 – 100 block Walnut St – An Officer responded to a report of a person possibly having seizures.

3/21 – 100 block N Montour St – An Officer responded to a 911 hang up call. No emergency was found.

3/22 – Weis Markets – An Officer responded to the report a vehicle crash with no injuries in the parking lot.

3/22 – 200 block Broad St – An Officer responded to the report of a 911 hang up call. No emergency was found.

3/22 – 1100 block Fairview Dr – An Officer responded to the report of a life alert alarm activation. No assistance was needed.

3/23 – Weis Markets – An Officer responded to the report of an unknown medical problem. EMS arrived and assumed control of the scene.

3/23 – Sam’s Place – An Officer assisted the property custodian with an abandoned vehicle and had it removed.

3/23 – 300 block Broad St – An Officer took a report of a stolen Bike.

3/23 – 900 Plaza Dr – An Officer responded to the report of a person having chest pains. EMS arrived and assumed control of the scene.

3/23 – Lyter School – An Officer responded for the report of a child custody issue.

3/23 – Walmart – An Officer took possession of photos that were dropped off to be developed. The photos depicted the results of child abuse. Investigation revealed it occurred in State Police territory and they were contacted to investigate the incident. The case was also reported to Childline.

3/23 – 300 block Broad St – An Officer responded to the report of a suspicious male hanging out in the alley. Upon arrival, the man was not located.

3/23 – 400 block Crawford Alley – An Officer recovered a bike and it was locked in a secure area.

3/23 – 300 block N Loyalsock Ave – An Officer responded to the report of someone banging on a door. Upon arrival, it was found to be a domestic related issue. The issue was calmed down and the male half was taken home.

3/24 – Indian Park – An Officer while on patrol saw two people engaging in sexual activity in the rear of a black Chevy sedan. Both were identified and released. Unknown if charges/ordinance citation will be filed.

3/24 – I-180 – An Officer arrested a person for DUI. No further information available.

2/28 – 300 block Crawford Alley – DUI (UM), DUI Highest Rate (UM), Turn Signals (S), Driving Wrong Way (S).

3/1 – School Bus – Disorderly Conduct (M3).

3/6 – Walmart – Retail Theft (S).

3/10 – Walmart – Retail Theft (M1), Corruption of Minors (M1).

3/17 – 400 block Broad St – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (UM).

3/20 – Walmart – Access Device Fraud (M1), Receiving Stolen Property (M1).
