Old Lycoming Township, Pa. -- An Old Lycoming Township man is facing charges including murder in connection with the 2018 death of his girlfriend’s 19-month old son, Ky’mani Moore.
Jason M. Forsyth, 22, was arrested today, January 7, 2020 on three felony counts of murder, two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony charge of endangering the welfare of children and other related charges, according to Old Lycoming Township Police.
Police, along with fire departments and EMS, were summoned to Misner Road in Old Lycoming Township on the morning of December 21, 2018 for an unresponsive child. Upon investigation, it was learned Moore suffered both acute and chronic injuries consistent with child abuse.
Investigators found that Moore was in the care of Forsyth when the serious injuries occurred at the Old Lycoming Township residence.
Forsyth was arraigned in front of District Magistrate Judge William Solomon. He was re-committed to Lycoming County Prison. Bailed was denied.
Forsyth has been incarcerated in Lycoming County Prison since November 2019 on unrelated theft/access device fraud charges. Those charges stemmed from an August 2019 incident in which Forsyth allegedly stole his girlfriend’s credit card and charged a streaming service called “Twitch.”
Forsyth’s preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. February 12 at Solomon’s office.
