A former cashier at the Fuel On gas station in Hughesville was arrested in relation to short drawers totaling over $2,300, according to police.

Even after being fired, Tyrone Barry Sanders, 21, of 36 W. Walnut St., Hughesville, reportedly continued to steal cash from the cash register and lottery drawer while recorded on Fuel On's closed circuit security camera.

"While watching the videos at my station, I observed fifteen different times Sanders walk behind the counter to the registers, open them and steal random amounts of cash from the drawers," Hughesville Borough Police Department Officer Ryan Travelpiece wrote in his affidavit. 

Sanders reportedly accomplished this by waiting until employees were outside or inside doing chores, according to Travelpiece's affidavit.

The alleged thefts were caught on camera during the period of June 14 to 20, 2019. Sanders was fired from his position as a cashier in early June, Travelpiece wrote.

Sanders was charged with one count of third degree felony theft by unlawful taking - movable property.

Sanders' preliminary hearing is sceduled before Muncy Magisterial District Judge Jon E. Kemp, Friday, July 12, 2019, at 4 p.m.
