A downtown street fair to coincide with the Little League World Series, welcoming visitors from all over the world, is planned for tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 23, 5 - 9 p.m.
It’s a festive occasion, with streets closed for vendors and entertainment. Shops will be open, offering discounts, and enterainment will be around every corner.
West Fourth St. will be closed to traffic from Market St. to Hepburn. Other streets closed tomorrow in the business corridor include West Edwin, Court, Pine, William, and Laurel.
Fun for kids and adults, visitors will find the following events and entertainment:
Baseball Hall of Famer Lee Smith, inducted this year and hailed as one of baseball’s best relief pitchers, signing autographs from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in front of the Chamber of Commerce building at the corner of West Fourth and Pine Streets.
A Kids Zone at the Trade and Transit Centre II, mid-town plaza. Sponsored in part by CCA Cyber school, a tuition-free public scool for kids from K-12. Additional children’s activities across William St. in the mural parking lot.
Magician Eddy Ray in Community Park (corner of Market and Fourth Streets) performing a stand-up magic show. Participation encouraged! Shows at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Performances by Uptown Music Collective under the marquee at the Community Arts Center on West Fourth St., and at Pine St. and Court St., performances from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
