WILLIAMSPORT -- Williamsport First Friday for May will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 in Downtown Williamsport. Parking downtown will be free during First Friday. Most events will be free.
New for this year will be Advocacy Alley, sponsored by UPMC Susquehanna. Advocacy Alley will feature tables set up by human service agencies and non profits.

Williamsport Area School District has once again been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
This is the 17th time in 18 years that WASD has received the designation, which is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.
WASD is among 623 districts selected this year from across the nation.

Arthaus Projects is excited to announce the opening of "Suspended Embrace" a new exhibition showcasing the work of Techne winner Cindy Lu. The exhibition opens Friday, May 3rd from 6 - 9pm, and is on display until Saturday, June 1st. This project addresses the ~68 million refugees and migrants worldwide, and stems from seeing footage of aid workers wrapping emergency blankets around the shoulders of newly-arrived refugees. This series of work explores the tension between the temporary and the permanent, the fragile and the resilient, and seeks to prolong or suspend the moment of embrace.

The Lycoming College Juried Senior Show is the culmination of the thesis project for all seniors with a major in studio art. All studio art majors are required to produce a cohesive body of professional work, and must be chosen to exhibit in the senior show by an outside juror in order to graduate.
