Williamsport – Lycoming county residents are invited to a free senior fair on Wednesday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Old Lycoming Township Fire Hall, located at 1600 Dewey Ave., Williamsport.
The resource fair, hosted by Rep. Jeff Wheeland (R-Lycoming), will feature local vendors offering government services, health screenings, fitness and nutrition information, volunteer opportunities, health and elder care, insurance information, and more.
“Families should not have to feel alone when they find themselves taking care of elderly relatives. Likewise, senior citizens should have no reason to feel alone or without community involvement,” said Wheeland. “I encourage area senior citizens and their caregivers to attend our senior fair and learn more about the resources and activities available to them that can make their lives easier and more enjoyable. My staff and I will be on hand to assist residents with any state-related concerns or state government programs.”
Representatives from a variety of state agencies, senior service providers, and nonprofit organizations will be on hand to share information about the help they offer. Attendees will also have the opportunity to dispose of outdated or no-longer-needed prescription medications.
Residents are encouraged to bring an insurance card.
