Williamsport – The 24th Annual “Set the Night to Music Fireworks Extravaganza,” hosted by Backyard Broadcasting and the City of Williamsport, is set for Thursday, July 4, 2019 in the area of the Hampton Inn Williamsport-Downtown, just off I-180. 

It’s a day of free entertainment, food and craft vendors, and the area’s biggest fireworks show. The world’s largest American flag will be raised at 10 a.m. by two Allison cranes. Bands start at 3 p.m. and fireworks will begin around 9:45 p.m. 

Stage entertainment includes: Trip the Light, Rocky Allen, New Theory, Mums the Word, Leo & KG with Family Tradition, Uptown Music Collective, Lumpy Gravy, Sons of Billtown. Sound provided by Blast Entertainment. K & S Music is providing the drum set and bass amp.

Street and walking path closings

The Market Street Bridge will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic from 8 p.m. to approximately 10:30 p.m. The River Walk will be closed from 7:30 a.m. from July 4 to 7:30 a.m. July 5 from Commerce Park to Maynard Street on the Williamsport side of the river and restrictions will be in place on the South Williamsport side of the river as well due to safety concerns. 

PA Fish & Game Commission will keep all craft off the river 1,000 feet east and west of Market Street Bridge.

Handicap parking is in the first floor of the parking deck on Third and Church streets. River

Valley Transit will offer free bus rides from all city parking lots to the fireworks area from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with stops every 10 minutes at the following locations: Mulberry and Edwin streets;

Mulberry Street and Washington Boulevard; Market and Edwin streets; Fifth Street parking lot;

Hepburn Street parking lot; Court and Pine streets.

No parking or stopping on or around any highway or road during the fireworks will be permitted, and no pets, tents, bikes, or private fireworks will be allowed in the area of the Hampton Inn Williamsport-Downtown.
