Covid-19 News & Updates - WaitingWeek.jpg

Pennsylvanians will no longer have to wait a week to receive their unemployment benefits.

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry announced today that it has suspended "waiting week."

Previously, claimants were not eligible to receive benefits during their first week of unemployment, their "waiting week."

Waiting week is now suspended, the Dept. of Labor and Industry said. Eligible claimants may receive benefits for the first week that they are unemployed.

The fastest way to apply for unemployment compensation is online at www.paclaims.pa.gov/UCEN/.

"Please be patient. Due to high demand, our UC system may experience intermittent slowness. Our UC team is working hard to process your claims," the department said on their Facebook page.
