Students from New Covenant Christian Academy in Mansfield, Pa., recently assisted with a spring cleaning day at Camp Susque in Trout Run.

TROUT RUN, Pa. --  Camp Susque, a Christian residential camp located in Trout Run, recently received a “Spring Cleaning” of sorts, on their ropes course.  The cleaning was done by students from New Covenant Christian Academy in Mansfield, Pa. More than 30 students came to help spread mulch and clear spring growth from the course and its trails.

The students spent the morning working hard to spruce up the ropes course and, after lunch, were led in some of the low ropes team building exercises.  Davis Swift, Camp Susque’s Program Director said, “There is a lot of work to be done each spring to prepare the camp for summer use.  It is such a blessing and encouragement to have people come and help.  We are very thankful for New Covenant Christian Academy and groups like them that come to be a part of our team.”

Camp Susque is located just north of Trout Run on Route 14 and is accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA).  Susque is celebrating their 70th year in operation as a non-profit 501c3 residential camp.  The Camp’s mission is Biblical evangelism and growth in Christian character for youth, young adults and families.  Susque programs include Boys and Girls Summer camps, Wilderness Adventure Trips, Family camps, Winter Camps and year round retreats and rentals.  Camp Susque also hosts outdoor educational classes and field trips for local schools through their School of Discovery.
