The Christmas season is in full swing with holiday festivals, carriage rides and candlelight services. The week starts with some rain and highs in the 40s and 50s, then dips down to the 30s as the sun starts to pop out.

Free Horse Drawn Carriage Rides

Take a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the holidays with a relaxing carriage ride!

Holiday Festival

Frostbite 5-Mile Run & Penguin 5k Walk – Duboistown

TIME: Registration opens at 11:00 AM. All races start at 1:00 PM Location: Duboistown Fire Hall, 2651 Euclid Ave, Duboistown, PA. PARKING: Available at Fire Hall and Bank Parking Lots AWARDS: Top 3 overall male and female runners and top 2 overall male and female walkers. Age group awards will also be given for runners and walkers, depending on registrations. All participants are welcome to the food and refreshments, as well as a giveaway for door prizes!

Homemade Holiday Gift: Pom Pom Teddy Bear

Everyone loves to receive a homemade gift made from the loving hands of a child. Children are encouraged to make two gifts.  One they can take home and give away to a family member or friend, and the other one will go into a gift bag at the library that we will give away to the community.  

Registration begins Monday, December 2nd. Please note that registration for this program is ongoing and remains open until the class is full.   This program is one of the many ways Pennsylvania Public Libraries support the PA Forward Initiative through providing civic and social literacy opportunities for learning.

Christmas Candlelight Service

At one of our most cherished traditions, more than 1,600 members of the university and surrounding communities gather in Weber Chapel. The service includes candle lighting and carols, as well as traditional readings, songs, and prayers in celebration of the season. Attendees are asked to bring a kid-friendly, non-perishable food item.

A free community dinner provided by Redeemer Lutheran Church in the social hall. Use the outside stairway.

Coffee Hour

Williamsport- The Taber Museum will host a lecture on scrimshaw by John DeWald and a performance by the Williamsport Music Club at its final Coffee Hour for the year. The program is free and open to the public and is held in the Community Room of the museum.

Snatch It Or Hatchet fundraiser

Calling all artists and collectors! Arthaus Projects wants your unwanted paintings for a fundraiser event they are working on with the Hatchet House. Now I know what you are thinking… Hatchets and art… what is that about? Well, Arthaus is teaming up with The Hatchet House for a first annual fundraiser called “Snatch It or Hatchet.”
