Williamsport native Petty Officer 3rd Class Noah Young is serving as an air traffic controller aboard USS Boxer.

Petty Officer Young recorded this “video shout out” for the Beaver Stadium audience during the November 16 Penn State football game vs. Indiana. Saturday's game was in honor of all U.S. military service men and women.

After the shout out aired, Young made a surprise military homecoming and entered Beaver Stadium riding a chariot to the delight and surprise of his wife and family.

USS Boxer is on its way back to its homeport in San Diego after a six-month deployment. The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) were deployed to the Asia-Pacific theater to support regional stability, reassure partners and allies, and maintain a presence to respond to any crisis ranging from humanitarian assistance to contingency operations.
