A longstanding tradition for many, Gingerbread house-building brings families together. Grandparents can build one with their grandchildren at the James V. Brown Library this Friday. Stock photo by Jill Wellington

As a fun seasonal addition to James V. Brown Library’s monthly Grandparent Storytime, this Friday the library is also inviting kids and their grandparents to build, decorate, and take home their own gingerbread (or graham cracker) house. A fun but challenging family project, gingerbread houses let children practice both their artistic skills and their ability to create stable structures.

All families participating in the house building project are asked to bring decorations to share, such as a small bag of colorful cereal.

This activity will take place starting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 6 in the Red Program Room. To register, please call 570-326-0536 or submit a registration through the library website.
