PENNSDALE -- The former Macy's store at the Lycoming Mall is being converted into storage units. Workers have been seen there recently renovating the inside of the former department store. The three exterior entrances have been altered to include garage doors. The exterior entrances also have been repainted.
A sign on the outside of the store inside the mall shows that it is now managed by Mustard Street Management. Attempts to reach a representative from Mustard Seed Management were unsuccessful.
Macy's closed in March of 2017. The 120,000 store opened in 1995 and employed 61 associates. The closure plans were announced by Macy's two years ago as part of their reorganization efforts due to lagging retail sales.
