Melissa Brown Farenish was born in Williamsport, Pa, and has written for local publications, including The Daily Item, Williamsport Sun-Gazette and The One magazine. She is a graduate of Penn State University. She has completed internships at MTV studios in New York City and WPSU public television in State College. A jack-of-all-trades kind of girl, she has worked as a bartender, dialysis technician, ESL teacher, journalist and customer service representative. She currently resides in Loyalsockville.
