A three-year dream came to fruition on Monday, thanks to community members and government leaders working closely together.

Ground was broken for the Lifland Skatepark in Williamsport, on West Fourth Street between Elm Park and the original Little League baseball field.

Details for the annual corvette show in Muncy were discussed during last Thursday’s monthly meeting of the Muncy Professional and Business Association.

The organization has successfully partnered with the Susquehanna Valley Corvette Club to display nearly 150 cars on Saturday, Sept. 17, as the “Fourth Annual Corvette Show/Artists in Our Own Backyard” festival begins. more»

On Saturday, May 21, on what has turned out this year to be a rare, sunny, spring day, Boy Scout Troop 37, from Mooresburg, Pennsylvania (near Danville), was out on a scheduled 20-mile hike along the Pine Creek Rail Trail. April 18, 2011 was a very wet and windy day in Clinton County, but that did not deter the spirit of 815 people who finished in the 5th annual Hyner Challenge.  This grueling 25-k race traverses Hyner Mountain, which provides runners spectacular scenic views while making three significant climbs totally over 4000 feet of elevation.   more»

TORBET VILLAGE -- At 8 a.m. on this beautiful summer day, I bicycled from my Torbert Village home northward, with the intent of going all the way to the northern terminus at Stokesdale Junction. Two flowers were blooming profusely all along the trail—Queen Anne’s Lace and Woodland Sunflower. more»

JERSEY SHORE -- The Pine Creek Rail Trail was voted as one of the “10 greatest places to take a bike tour” by USA Today and I am lucky enough to have the 62-mile bike trail begin right in my hometown, Jersey Shore.  My friend, Alicia Thompson, and I travel up and down the trail quite often, but just recently we began considering turning our 5-mile bike rides into 30-mile bike rides. more»

MUNCY-The 11th annual Irv Zablocky Memorial Run registered over 200 participants this year, a representative of the event said.

"This is the highest number of runners we've ever seen," said the sister of the late Irv Zablocky, who passed away 10 years ago. In his memory, the run was dedicated as a tribute to the runner, who was also known as "Z-Man" by his fellow runners. more»
