Dorothy A. Wise

(August 9, 1933 - February 17, 2013)

Dorothy A. (Dot) Wise, 79, a resident of Montgomery, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Born in Gregg Twp., Union County, PA, on Wednesday, August 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Dora (VanWinkle) Keifer.

Dorothy was the wife of Samuel W. Wise, Jr. with whom she celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary on January 31, 2013. She was a 1951 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School. Dorothy was employed by the Montgomery School District in the cafeteria where she was employed as a cook and baker.

Dorothy was a member of St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church in Montgomery, where she served on the service committee. She was a good cook, enjoyed being with her family and taught the kids to hunt and fish. When the grandkids came along they were the light of her life. Dorothy loved attending their games and school activities and family time during the holidays.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Sally Wise, Lyman, SC; Henry and Bell Wise, Unityville, PA; Dale and Sandy Wise, Montgomery; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Ed Ott, Montgomery; five grandchildren, Matthew (Denyell) Wise; Aaron Wise; Andrew Wise; Robert Wise; Samantha Wise.

Funeral services will be conducted from the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery, PA at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013 with Reverend Viking E. Dietrich, her pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA or on Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church.
