Kenneth H. Krah

(October 1, 1946 - February 27, 2012)

Kenneth Harry Krah, 65, of Hughesville, died Monday, February 27, 2012, at his home.

Born October 1, 1946, in Mt. Carmel, he was a son of the late Elmer C. and Doris C. Slotterbach Krah. His wife of 48 years, Elaine J. Krah, preceded him in death on September 16, 2011.

Ken graduated from the William Tennent High School, Class of 1964. He was a Vietnam veteran who served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Ken retired from the PA Game Commission, after having worked there for over 25 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 35, Hughesville and the Muncy Valley Moose. Ken was an active member of the Pennsdale Fire Company and held numerous positions, which included: Ambulance Captain, Assistant Ambulance Captain, EMT, CPR Instructor, Vice President and Chairman of the By Laws Committee. In 2010, Ken was awarded the EMS volunteer of the year award. He also enjoyed baseball.

Surviving are a son, Brian and his wife Debra Krah of Pennsdale; and three grandchildren, Abigail, Alexander and Emily.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ken was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel E. Krah.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. James Episcopal Church, 215 S. Main St., Muncy, with the Rev. David Culbertson officiating.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to: Kenneth H. Krah Memorial Fund, c/o First National Bank, 2 S. Main St., Hughesville, PA 17737. All proceeds will be distributed by the family to various charitable organizations.
