Shirley A. Bennett, 75, a resident of Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit, formerly of Williamsport, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born December 13, 1936 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Charles and Nora Snyder.

Shirley worked as a nurse’s assistant at Divine Providence Hospital and as a bus driver for Williamsport Area School District.  She enjoyed bowling at ABC Lanes, was an avid supporter of Little League and was very involved in her children’s lives.

Surviving are her children; Lucina Campbell of Williamsport, Patricia Zimmerman of Montoursville, Cindy Eiswert of Shippensburg, Hugh Bennett, Jr. of Harrisburg, Charles Bennett of South Williamsport, Timothy Burns of Williamsport, and Nathan Bennett of Williamsport; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda DuPree.

A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday, January 21 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
