Winifred A. Shuman

Winifred A. Shuman, 91, of Nisbet, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at Valley View Nursing Home, Montoursville. 

Born July 1, 1920 in South Williamsport, she was the daughter of Ollie P. and Myrtle E. (Weaver) Hamm. She and her husband Arthur L. Shuman would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on March 14.   

Winifred was a graduate of South Williamsport High School.  She retired from Conchemco.  The most important aspects in her life were God and family. 

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Carol J. Saar (Arthur) of Nisbet; son Gary L. Shuman of Nisbet; six grandchildren, Mark Shuman, Laurie Lott, Penny Nalapa, Susan Harris, Margie Springman, and Polly Kline; 13 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother James (Jerry) Hamm of Montoursville. 

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Patty Saar and sisters Myrtle Pfirman and Mary Shuman. 

Funeral servicse will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 12 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will take place at Twin Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at Sanders.
